LIMOUSINE CRASH: FBI Protecting the HUSSAIN Family ?

 ALBANY — New York Magazine has published an impressively detailed story on the Schoharie limousine crash that again invites a still-unanswered question: Does the FBI bear culpability for the tragedy that killed 20 people in 2018?

Prestige Limousine, after all, was owned by Shahed Hussain, a notorious and mysterious informant in several FBI terrorism stings that essentially entrapped people with no apparent ties to Islamic extremism, including, in one infamous case, the owner of an Albany pizza shop and an imam from a Central Avenue mosque.

After the crash, terrific reporting by Times Union reporter Larry Rulison revealed the extent of Hussain's troubling history, which includes a veritable laundry list of dubious business dealings and other eyebrow-raising interactions. But somehow, Hussain and his family always escaped consequences.

"As a rule," wrote Ben Ryder Howe, "people in power here will simply not discuss whether Hussain’s undercover work played any role in allowing his businesses to flout safety regulations. Take, for example, Democratic congressman Paul Tonko, a 'son of Amsterdam' who knew many of the victims. Last year, Tonko’s then–communications director, Matt Sonneborn, began an hour-long interview by specifying that neither he nor Tonko would have anything to say about the Hussains or the FBI."

JAN 6 - How it would work

 At the heart of the plan was an effort to empower Mr. Trump’s allies in Congress to hand him the election. 

Under the Constitution, if the Electoral College deadlocks or if no candidate receives a majority of its votes, the House of Representatives decides the victor. 

Each state delegation casts a single vote in these so-called “contingent elections.” Under that scenario, Mr. Trump would almost certainly have won.

JAN 6 - "Extreme Measures" Executive Order Disclosed

 

This week the January 6 Committee received more than 700 pages of documents from the Trump White House related to various attempts to challenge the election, including a draft of an executive order calling for extreme measures. 

The draft executive order called for the military to seize voting machines and deploy the National Guard, was the subject of heated debate inside the White House in December, as the pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell and Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn promoted wild conspiracies about voting machines. Others in the room, including the White House counsel, Pat A. Cipollone, repeatedly and aggressively pushed back on the ideas being proposed.

JAN 6 - Michigan AG FAKE ELECTORS Investigation Handed Over to Federal Prosecutors

 Attorney General Dana Nessel of Michigan said this week that she believed there was enough evidence to charge 16 Republicans in her state for submitting false certificates claiming Mr. Trump won her state’s electoral votes in 2020. 

She said she had handed over to federal prosecutors the results of a yearlong investigation into Republicans who signed documents in December 2020 falsely identifying themselves as Michigan’s electors. 

New Mexico’s attorney general, Hector Balderas Jr., referred similar allegations to federal law enforcement.  THE SCHEME.....a coordinated effort to convene fraudulent GOP electors in multiple states 

The Trump campaign played a role in directing several State GOP's to hold their own elector meetings, describing it at the time as a way to preserve the defeated president’s legal options as he fought doomed court battles to overturn the results.

The Trump campaign lined up supporters to fill elector slots, secured meeting rooms in statehouses for the fake electors to meet and circulated drafts of fake certificates.

Trump campaign officials, led by Rudy Giuliani, oversaw efforts in December 2020 to put forward illegitimate electors from seven states that Trump lost.   In five of those states — Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan and Georgia — those electors then signed certificates claiming they were “duly elected and qualified” to represent their states. New Mexico and Pennsylvania also participated.

The evidence points toward a coordinated effort to convene GOP electors in multiple states Trump lost and have them declare themselves authentic electors for that state. The forms the electors used in different locations were nearly identical, from their wording to their fonts.

When those court battles failed, Vice President Mike Pence would introduce the unofficial pro-Trump electors to cast Biden’s victory into doubt the counting of electoral votes on Jan. 6, 2021.

 Washington (CNN)  Trump campaign officials, led by Rudy Giuliani, oversaw efforts in December 2020 to put forward illegitimate electors from seven states that Trump lost, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the scheme. States - Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, Nevada and New Mexico.

POLITICO ...The false-electors to the ELECTORAL COLLEGE push was well-known at the time, but it’s drawn fresh scrutiny amid indications that the select committee has received documents from multiple states shedding new light on the efforts.

Michigan’s top prosecutor, Attorney General Dana Nessel, recently suggested she’s been investigating the submission of illegitimate GOP electors for a year.

CNN..The sources said Giuliani and his allies coordinated the nuts-and-bolts of the process on a state-by-state level, the sources told CNN. One source said there were multiple planning calls between Trump campaign officials and GOP state operatives, and that Giuliani participated in at least one call. The source also said the Trump campaign lined up supporters to fill elector slots, secured meeting rooms in statehouses for the fake electors to meet on December 14, 2020, and circulated drafts of fake certificates that were ultimately sent to the National Archives.

 Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch (right) has refused to wear a mask in court despite pleas from Chief Justice John Roberts, according to a report. Last fall, amid a decline in Covid-19 cases, the court resumed in-person arguments for the first time, and none chose to wear a mask except Justice Sonia Sotomayor , who is 67 and has diabetes. 

But earlier this month when the court returned to the bench following the Omicron surge over the holidays, Sotomayor made it clear she did not feel safe in close proximity with the others unless they were masked. 

Roberts then reportedly asked the other justices to mask up so that Sotomayor could return, but Gorsuch, who sits directly next to her, remained obstinate.

"Jingle Bells" Just got "WOKED" out of Christmas !

 An Upstate New York school banned “Jingle Bells” due to the popular holiday song’s “questionable past.”  Council Rock Elementary in Brighton, N.Y., told the Rochester Beacon that the Christmas carol and several others have been replaced with different tunes that don’t have the “potential to be controversial or offensive.”  One factor in the decision was research published in 2017 by Boston University professor Kyna Hamill. Hamill found “Jingle Bells; or, The One Horse Open Sleigh,” was first performed in public at an 1857 minstrel show in Boston with white performers in blackface.

Evidence that Omicron was NOT more threatening to children

 Doctors and researchers said they were not seeing evidence that Omicron was more threatening to children. Instead, much of the rise in pediatric admissions results from the sheer number of children who are becoming infected with both Delta and the more contagious Omicron variant,  as well as low vaccination rates among children over 5.

Desmond M. Tutu - RIP

Archbishop Desmond M. Tutu - the cleric who used his pulpit and spirited oratory to help bring down apartheid in South Africa and then became the leading advocate of peaceful reconciliation under Black majority rule, died on Sunday in Cape Town. Tutu preached that the policy of apartheid was as dehumanizing to the oppressors as it was to the oppressed. He was 90.

TEXAS to build "The WALL"

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced construction has started on the STATE FUNDED Wall that will take up $1billion in state money and $54 million from private sector gifts.  Abbott has aimed to crack down on migration through his Operation Lone Star Initiative, which utilizes Texas' National Guard and Department of Public Safety.   The initiative has already placed physical hurdles, like steel shipping containers, on borderlines to block migrants and awarded a $162 million contract to  Posillico Civil Inc., an engineering company.

Manchin will NOT vote for climate and social spending bill

 Manchin announced on “Fox News Sunday” that he would not vote for PART 2 of BIDEN's "BUILD BACK BETTER Program:  the climate and social spending bill, confirming, “This is a no on this legislation.” He cited concerns with inflation, the $29 trillion federal debt and a surge in new infections caused by the omicron variant of COVID-19 as reasons for his position.

JAN 6 - 'Stop the Steal' organizer's contacts with Republican lawmakers

 Ali Alexander, the conservative activist behind the "Stop the Steal" movement, told congressional investigators that he had communicated with several House Republican lawmakers ahead of the Jan. 6 rally and Capitol riot, along with at least one member of the Trump family's inner circle.

According to the complaint, Alexander testified to the committee on Dec. 9 that he "had a few phone conversations" with Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., potentially texted Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., and spoke in person to Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz.  All three GOP lawmakers were involved in the efforts to challenge the electoral results on Jan. 6, and participated in meetings at the White House and on Capitol Hill on the subject.

Trump advisor Steve Bannon is calling for gathering 4,000 'shock troops' to steer the government in the event of a second  term TRUMP 2024 : ....'It's fresh and it's new. This is Trumpism in power. JAN 6 - Meadow's POWER POINT PRESENTATION: “an alarming blueprint for overturning a nationwide election.”

The special House committee investigating Jan. 6 revealed the existence of a 38 page Powerpoint presentation: titled “Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 JAN.”  that laid out strategies for keeping Trump in power, including having him declare a national security emergency and have then-Vice President Pence halt Congress’s certification of Joe Biden’s victory. .."It’s a document Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the chairman panel, this week called “an alarming blueprint for overturning a nationwide election.” 

Phil Waldron, a retired U.S. Army colonel a helped distribute a Powerpoint on plans for Jan. 6 and briefed lawmakers on the plans for the day.   Waldron, was among those present at the Willard Hotel “war room” for the Trump campaign and appeared to play a key role in pushing forward the strategy to contest the election.  This information was among the details released in the committee’s contempt report for Meadows is a reference to a Jan. 5 email regarding a 38-page powerpoint.
