It's a bird...it's a plane, no....it's Dewitt....

....flying in from Florida for the Town Board meeting....or so it is "rumored"....word is Dewitt would not fly up for the special meeting unless the Town picked up the tab!   At least, that's what we hear...interesting that we have never heard anything further from our Supervisor's high-level "briefing"with the Town Attorney on Monday......but what did we REALLY expect??? ...more of the same:  a lot of "noise" and no information.

TOWN BOARD: The "Briefing"...?

So..... what was the outcome of the high-level "briefing" with the Town Attorney which took place Monday (2/29) morning according to the Town Supervisor???.. see he has been active in updating his campaign against Magee, but has no time to update the Town Taxpayers .... or post minutes on the Town website....or report individually, as Supervisor, report to the Town like Rossi in Hamilton and Goldstein in Lebanon.  

Thanks to his "Rules of Decorum" which restricts the type of questions the public can ask) .... we have no idea what goes on at the Town Board level (even when you ATTEND these meetings)...but we see constant updates on his campaign...

We need to have these questions answered:

1.  Who has the authority to re-instate the Town Board and Highway Superintendent positions?

2.   Will these elected officials have to run for office again in NOVEMBER as was the situation in Oswego where they now have to run for re-election even though their original terms did not end until 2017.  So will we now have three new positions to add to the November ballot?

3.   How far back did these " technical" "vacancies" occur and what are the implications for the retirement and other benefits that may have been received by them during their "vacancy" period?

Nice to see that our Supervisor took care of himself with the rest of the County Supervisors...too bad he could not extend this kind of organization to his own colleagues on the Town Board.

Frankly, the oath is a hoax!  You lose everything if you don't take it (even by mistake) but if you BREAK the oath -- intentionally -- your fellow politicians will make sure you can keep your pension ..benefits and job:  SILVER, LIBOUS, SKELOS,  Honor among thieves???

Sunday, Feb. 28: Christopher N. Brissette, 41, of Deering, New Hampshire, was charged in Brookfield with third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of one percent, refusal to take a breath test, and putting stickers on the vehicle’s windshield and rear window.

OATH: A simple "oversight"...? NOT TRUE

VERY INTERESTING....how the Town Supervisor portrays the  oath debacle as a simple "oversight"[Per his FACEBOOK page....."...this has happened in Oneida & Oswego counties and is being treated as an OVERSIGHT"

NOT TRUE:   WHY did he purposely  NOT  mention that he and fellow  Madison County Supervisors used this very same "oversight" to throw theCounty Property Tax Director out of Office only last year! (or was that too an "oversight"?)  .... and the ONEIDA COUNTY "oversight":  he knows she also lost the position  to which she was RE-ELECTED (3 times!) and her party APPOINTED someone they liked. It is a much bigger deal than a simple "oversight": 

Since Mr. Salka indicates he will be briefed by the TOWN ATTORNEY this MONDAY morning, how long before we finally get a straight answer to:

Now that there are only 3 Board Members left: Salka, Mayne & Head......they might have a quorum but with Dewitt rumored to be in Florida....so how will be obtain a quorum?

....and who is authorized to reinstate the Board and the Highway Superintendent? ...the Board? a special election??

....what are the implications for any benefits received during the vacancy period ?

....and while he said he reported it as soon as he was advised....just "who" advised him?

Under this administration, the status quo would be an improvement.  More time is spent running around the countryside furthering his own political ambitions...

It took YEARS to get a road agreement.... how long will it take to sort this out and get back to the VOTERS.... or, is this going to be another "sweep it under the rug" affair, just like the school vandalism?... how much will it cost the Town to clean this up?

TOWN BOARD: Another Missing Oath......

UPDATE...OH NO!....the plot thickens... apparently, the Highway Dept Superintendent does not have a completed oath either.... so those seats are effectively "vacant"... and unless Dewitt is in Town, we won't even have a Town Board quorum....certainly  hope Supervisor Salka  has contacted the County Clerk and the Town Lawyer, Tina Wayland-Smith.  This has the making of a real mess ....

Political Intrigue: Brookfield's own "HOUSE OF CARDS".....

You don't have to wait until March to see the next episode of House of Cards ...  we have plenty of Political Intrigue now playing out on our own Town Board. 

 

Rumor has it that TWO recently elected Board members have lost their Board seats for failure to take the "oath of office" required to be filed within 30 days  of taking office.....and we hear the "investigator (s)" is an administration insider(s). 

 

This is the new approach to getting rid of your "opponents" ....Madison County Supervisors did it to the new property tax manager; Utica Democrats did it to their own party member, Harmony Speciale, and replaced her with a more "cooperative" fellow" Democrat.  

 

Anyway, back to BROOKFIELD: 

The next question is "WHO.... had the means to do it?.... or even cared? " hmm....just like a murder investigation it boils down to WHO has the means, motive and opportunity for these political shenanigans???? Look across the table gentlemen, the dealer may be sitting at the table, and the deck is stacked!!!
