Sad state of a Fair !

RUMOR AROUND TOWN that... a certain Town Board Member is taking his milking stool and leaving the Dairy Barn...at the County Fair. He will no longer act as the Cattle Superintendent at the Madison Co. Fair ....apparently, he is upset with fellow Board member (who is also "head honcho" at the MCF) over this board member's "deciding" vote (3 to 2) to the accept/adopt/approve the Comprehensive Plan rather than leaving it on "the shelf".... And word just in....apparently the Fair's electrician and another opponent of the Comprehensive Plan has also resigned from the Fair. Lights out! Sad state of a Fair !

TOWN BOARD MEETING Highlights - Jan 13, 2014

Highlights of last night's Town Board Meeting... The COMPREHENSIVE PLAN was passed by a vote of 3 to 2 with Walker and Head voting NO...and Mayne doing the longest job of waffling back and forth on his vote.....Highway Superintendent received a raise to $44,270 beginning 1/1/14.....Perhaps the most important part of the meeting was the push back from member of the community who are sick and tired of the same criminals being given a pass by the local judiciary. Much frustration was voiced over the local Justices of the Peace and the County’s lack of police enforcement against criminals in this part of the county. The Justices do not provide a docket for cases where the public would be made aware of cases appearing before them. Town Attorney Hadley thought that it might be a requirement – hope he checks and if so, see that it is enforced – Particularly for ADA Assistant District Attorney Night for the more serious crimes. Several members wanted Salka to speak to the Judges, but he explained not within his authority, as executive branch, to interfere with the independence of the judicial branch of gov’t. Without a doubt, much frustration with our local judicial system.
